An American based in Paris, Mary Gallagher has been working in the European fashion industry for twenty-five years. Mary joined Martens & Heads at its launch in 2004 and worked with the company until 2008. After an 18-month hiatus spent in Boston, MA, Mary rejoined Martens and Heads in January 2010.
In the decade prior to working with Martens and Heads, Mary was the Buying Consultant for the prestigious fashion store, Harvey Nichols. Her success in introducing some of the world's new creative international talent and top-tier brands in ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and beauty contributed to Harvey Nichols’ authority as a fashion mecca.
Mary's love of fashion led to her first job in New York as Merchandising Editor of Seventeen Magazine. She then moved to Promostyl, the French fashion forecasting company, as the Assistant Director of the US office. She was soon transferred to London to start and head a subsidiary of Promostyl in the UK, launching and developing the market for the company's trend services. Mary then moved to Paris as Global Commercial Director of Promostyl, where she oversaw worldwide agents and offices, established a subsidiary in Tokyo, and marketed and enhanced Promostyl's products.
Mary returned to fashion journalism and London in the early nineties as Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor of Marie Claire UK. Mary continues her journalistic contributions as a freelance writer.
Mary brings a unique perspective on search and the fashion industry, garnered from her years as an industry insider. Mary's eye for talent, knowledge of fashion, and contact with its major players are an advantageous combination for clients. |
